CRIB DOCKS
We use new Douglas Fir timbers for the cribs, stringers and crossers. There are several choices for decking materials, the most popular being Cedar and pressure treated Spruce. We ensure the cribs are well positioned on the lake bottom to guarantee a solid foundation for the deck surface and potential boathouse. If bearing on rock, we drill and install steel pins to secure the cribs to ensure no uplift, slipping or shifting.
BOATHOUSES
Our experience in boathouse construction allows us to propose materials and construction methods that are crucial to prolonging the lifespan of your boathouse. We work with you on the design and acquire the required approvals to get the project started.
DOCK REPAIR
Every spring in Muskoka, docks and boathouses are exposed to severe conditions that can result in significant damage or decreased lifespan. We repair, re-level and replace docks including those supporting existing boathouses.
STEEL DOCKS
In depths over ten feet or where the lake bed is unsuitable, driven steel piles are the best way to support your dock and boathouse structure. We will meet you, assess your shoreline and advise you on the most suitable dock construction for your needs. See our “Project Blog” page for some examples of our past dock and boathouse projects in Muskoka.
Big or small, we’ll ensure your project meets every expectation.

I was not sure if I should replace my entire dock and boathouse due to its age. I saw Wicks Construction working on a project across the bay and called them to talk about my options. They told me the boathouse was still ok and that the only the dock needed to be repaired. They demolished the old dock, extended the existing cribs and installed a new dock on top without disturbing the boathouse. Now my dock sits higher out of the water and looks fantastic. They were very helpful and easy to deal with.
